We are very excited to have added Kalinka to our hear in the fall of 2024. With both Tangelo and Berlin in her pedigree she has produces 2 lovely sport prospects with her previous owner, and we loo forward to many more
Tangelo VD Zuuthoeve’s lift-off, wellrounded jumps and excellent leg technique, a surplus in power and carefulness make Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve one of the most remarkable horses in his age group. He is also doing brilliantly in breeding with two sons already licensed: Triple was champion at the NRPS and Vigaro (Zangersheide) came second in the quality inspection for four-year-olds in Geesteren 2006. That the offspring score highly for type and free jumping was confirmed at the mare.
The pedigree of Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve is an accumulation of the best European show jumping horse sires. All stallions in the first four removes of Tangelo’s dam’s line have performed at international level in show jumping. Inevitably Tangelo made his breakthrough at international level in 2004 and had remarkable achievements under Roelof Bril.
Tangelo’s sire Narcos II (Fair Play III) is amongst the best sires in French breeding. Also dam’s sire Laudanum xx is one of the foremost show jumping horse progenitors in the world. Tangelo’s grandam Racyona Z was bred at the famous Belgian stud farm Zangersheide, and in combination with Cor de la Bryère Racyona Z also produced the licensed stallion Colorado Z.
The dam’s line continues via Almé Z to the Hanoverian foundation dam Grata Z, a daughter of the progenitor Gotthard.
On the Dam side, Berlin was a phenomenal producer in his own right. He was a World Equestrian Games and European Championships Team Gold Medalist.
Eurocommerce Berlin’s sire Cassini I was the trump card of the German/Dutch international rider Franke Sloothaak. The pair won, among other things, the Grand Prix at Champion Gelderland, the CSI at the national sports centre in Papendal, and the Grand Prix at CSI Modena. Cassini’s sire, Capitol I, forms the genetic bottleneck where the stallion line of the legendary Cottage Son xx squeezed through to have enough space to spread out broadly for a second time throughout the breeding world. Cassini’s dam, Wisma, is from the mare line, 3389, that, since Cassini I, has received more interest from the Holstein breeders. In addition to his full brother, Cassini II, this mare line has produced the licensed stallions, Caleri (sire: Calido I), Cassaro (sire: Coronado) and Lovari (sire: Lasino).
From the point of view of sport, Eurocommerce Berlin’s dam, Estia, is just as interesting. Estia (out of the famous Caretino) was the international show jumping horse of both Aloïs Pollmann-Schweckhorst and Marc Wirths. Pollman-Schweckhorst rode her grandam Ostia as well. Also stemming from this mare line 890, among others, are the show jumpers Crocodile Dandy of Alison Firestone and Feodora of Fritz Fervers.
With this international superstar pedigree, we look forward to what Kalinka will add to our program
