Corvina

Curvy was bred by Rosenol Performance horses and is out of one of our past beloved mares Patina. Patina has since passed away so curvy was kept to continue her legacy. At the age of 3 we thought we were going to lose her as well, as she suffered a blow in the field that spiral fractured her tibia. Somehow it held together and healed without surgery. Originally I had intended to ride her, but I never quite felt right about it after her injury, so a broodmare she will be.

Her sire is and incredible horse, Contifax, standing at creekside farms in Calgary.

Contifax is a Contender son from the Ramiro line, combining two outstanding performance lines. Contifax comes to North America from a long, well respected career in Sport following several first place tests for young jumpers which led him to compete all the way up to the World Cup level.Contender, the son of Calypso II, is one of the most frequented studs of the Holsteiner Association. At the 2006 Holsteiner approvals, Contender was completely convincing with five approved sons.  Ritual comes for the famous 776 mare line, to which Ramiro, a sire of the century, belongs. Ritual is one of the very few Hanoverian stallions ever licensed for breeding by the Holstein Verband.

Corvina’s mom Patina was an incredible broodmare, who produced nothing less than exceptional foals. Her babies are big, smart and beautiful.   Patina’s sire is Pik Kasso, who is by Phantast. Phantast’s pedigree includes some of the finest dressage and jumping bloodlines. His sire is the Hanvoverian stallion Pik Solo, who has produced many successful performance horses at all levels of competition. His grandsire is the legendary Pik Koeing who sired 19 approved Hanvoverian stallions and over 200 main stud book mares. Pik Koeing’s offspring have won more than 1.5 million DM. Phantast’s dam is the Westphalian mare Dusalin, an outstanding jumper. She produced many premium foals including Prinz David, the sale topper at the 1991 Glenwood Farm Production sale. Phantast’s Grandsire Renaldo, known for his elasticity and good temperament, was one of the most requested stallions at the station at Warendorf in Germany, producing many outstanding sons and German auction horses.
