Quest is a sweet gelding who is owned by a young student of mine. He has been wonderful to work with, with both kindness and intelligence.
Quest is by Quadro. Quadro is tall, strong and has all the attributes we have come to expect in our breeding stallions these days. He is athletic and graceful, with a strong smooth topline and long straight legs! His gallop step is HUGE and he shows a definite desire to jump! His form is fantastic and he is very smart about his legs. His sire is Quadrigo. There is not a ton of info out there about him, and most of what I can find is in german. However, Quadrigo's sire is the infamous, Quinar Z. Quinar Z was a sensation over the fence! At the 1997 Holsteiner stallion selection Quinar Z was the new sensation because of his phenomenal performance in the free jumping. Like Quaprice Z, Quite Easy, Quantum and Verdi, also Quinar Z is the result of the well-tested combination Quidam de Revel with a Holsteiner mare. On his dam’s side Quinar Z again carries the valuable jumping blood of the legendary stallion Almé Z via his son Aloube Z. The dam’s line of Quinar Z further adds the sport blood of Calypso I and goes back directly to a full sister of the well-known Holsteiner stallions Mahdi I and II from lineage 1020. After his licensing in 1997, Quinar Z was bought by Studfarm Zangersheide. His break-through came in 2003 at the Holsteiner stallion selection, where six of his sons were sold for the astronomical amount of 665,000 euro. In 2009 his daughter Quinthago Z won the World Championship[for 5-yr-olds at Domain Zangersheide under Leopold van Asten. Quinar Z's first babies are now competing at top calibre competitions. Familiar names are Quadrigo (Lars Bak Andersen), Queensland (Beat Mändli), Quintender (Henrik Gundersen), Quinara (Leopold van Asten) and Quick Nick (Jonella Ligresti). A pedigree full of international superstars.
