Aegon is a big handsome guy with tons of presence and personality!
His Sire, Aquilan Calypso was a hardworking guy his whole life, jumping in over a hundred grand prixs. We are his retirement home, and we love having him. His babies are sweet, kind and easy to train. They also have his elegant, cadenced movement.
Ace’s dad is Ahorn Z. Ahorn Z became an international jumping legend with the Dutch team competing in many World Cups and Grand Prix. He is famous for producing international show jumpers and breeding stallions, including Acord I, Acord II, and Acord III. Ahorn Z transmits courage, determined character and sincere force and structure without removing class. Ahorn's dam, Heureka, competed internationally and had many wins in Hamburg, Aachen, Bruxelles, Noerten-Hardenberg, Vienna, and Berlin, and won the Grand Prix of Aachen. She was one of the most successful international jumpers in the period 1969-71, and is ranked as one of the best broodmares in the world. Ace’s mom is by Calypso I. Calypso I produced both dressage stars as well as international jumpers. He is said to be one of the most significant sires and most uniform producer of elegant performance horses. He is considered an important pre-potent sire that consistently produced fabulous gaits and scopey movements in his get. He has 10 stallion sons and over 140 approved daughters.
Stilleto is a kind, uncomplicated horse. She is tall with long legs, natural balance and a big stride. She had a successful hunter career with an amateur while at the same time being used for vaulting by WEG hopefuls. No matter what the task, she is willing and sweet. She is simple to breed, caught on the first breeding, and carried easily. She foaled like a champ 13 days early, and had a foal who is as strong, correct and as kind as his mother. This is a special mare, one who would be a seamless addition to any program, whether it be a dressage barn as her pedigree might encourage, or a hunter/jumper breeder looking to breed temperaments for the amateur market.
Stilleto's sire was the dressage stallion, Arius, who was owned and shown by a local dressage trainer to Prix st george. His sire was Reiner klimke's Aplius, anouther exceptional dressage horse and equally successful sire. This stallion thru Akzent I, goes back to Absatz who was the sire of stallions such as Argentan, Arsenik and II, Admiral I and II, Aktuell and Aderla. All told Absatz sired 40 Approved sons, 605 competition horses and 142 Verden auction horses. Thanks to the magic of frozen semen, he continued to sire foals long after his death, and it is rumoured that a vintage cache of Absatz semen is still ‘cellared’ at Celle. Absatz’s modern influence is perhaps most strongly felt through Weltmeyer who is out of Anka by Absatz.
Stilleto's dam is a large bodied thoroughbred mare, who after a reasonably successful racing career, was then a riding horse before becoming one of our first broodmares. She was remarkably beautiful, kind and a fabulous mother. Her foals were all big, elegant and correct, with powerful, balanced movement. she herself has a very high quality thoroughbred pedigree, with horses like Nasrullah, northern dancer and Bold ruler behind her.
Aegon is curious, intelligent and kind. He is the type of horse that could go in any direction!
