Baltazar
2008 Holsteiner gelding
Baldini II x Carthago
Baltazar
Balto is my newest boy, only joining us in January 2014. He came from a very different background, where he wasn’t getting along with his rider. Lucky for both of us, I ride the way he wants to be ridden and he jumps his heart out for me! He is an exciting mount for me, with what feels like a limitless amount of scope, bravery and personality.

Balto's dad is Baldini II. Baldini II absolved his stallion performance test in Miinster-Handorf in 1998, where analogous to his older full-brother, he produced above average results in both disciplines, but with a definitely stronger weighting in show jumping. He impressively proved his sporting ability for the first time in 2000, as the multiple winner of show jumper classes up to intermediate level and successfully participated in the Federal Championship. He crowned these successes in 2001 by becoming federal champion six-year old show jumper in Warendorf and by gaining his first advanced class placements in 2002.  His sire was Bachus Z, a product of the combination of Shagya and Holstein blood. His sire Bajar {who died in 1986} was a reputable sport horse and his offspring outnumber 800, who have together earned more than DM 400,000, an enormous amount for an Arabian horse. One of his most famous products is Peter Thomsen’s eventer White Girl (from a Trakehner dam, sire Marengo}. Bajar was a pure grey and, moreover, the product of a full brother x full sister. Bachus Z descends from a Holstein dam (lineage 703}. Grandsire Rasputin is inbred to Ramzes’ sire Rittersporn xx and in Rasputin’s female lineage we find the same sires as in the pedigree of Bajar: Bakszyz ox, Amurath ox, Shagya x. Therefore Bachus Z has more than 55% Arab blood.

Balto's mom's Sire, is Carbano by Carthago, a familiar name in show jumping. Carthago was a top class Grand Prix and championship performer under the saddle of Jos Lansink. He jumped in 15 nations cups, he was 11th individually in the Atlanta Olympic Games & 8th individually at the European Championships, while at 5 star GP level he won at La Baule CSIO, was 2nd at Aachen CSIO and 5th at Calgary CSIO etc
